yea, that cdep they did on moocow fuckin ruled. personally i think they hit their peak on "no strength to suffer"....everything after that was gravy........

i love this band on a not so funny note i wore a shirt of theres to the disembodied shows in so cal and a guy comes up to me asks me if im from reno i say no and starts talking all this shit on the band i seriously thought he wanted to fight me i was pollite then left and as im leaving hes like yea if your really sXe you wouldnt be wearing that shirt i pretended not to hear him and kept walking but yea fall silent is amazing wish i could have seen them

and that sucks about getting talked shit to for wearing a shirt. i want to hear the whole story of them getting jumped on stage in SLC from both sides.

i think it was Danny, the guitar player, who was found dead about 2 years ago. the whole story is pretty wild.

Fall Silent was one of my favorite bands back then, totally ridiculous how good they played.

Apparently, he had broken his collar bone or something and was on pain killers and may have had a beer. That year was a rough one on people from Reno. They still have a contract with Revelation for 2 more records, but Damon has lost it and Levi teaches math in high school and wants nothing to do with Fall Silent anymore.

Thanks. I have the Wellington split that rules and most everything else by them.

the story that i heard was that he was riding his motorcycle, under the influence of something, and they found him in the morning slumped in a storefront, dead. may have fallen off the bike and just went to sleep and never woke up. thats the story i heard from a guy who used to live in reno.

I loved Fall Silent, although I wasn't quite as into the full length on Rev. My old band played with them once, and they were super nice dudes, but just before leaving for tour, they played a show in Reno and someone stole the entire contents of their cash box.
I can't remember the entire account of their beef in SLC, but I do recall someone telling me that Levi was getting the shit kicked out of him during their set, and then he finds his way back to the mic and says "is that all you've got?".

Agreed. I haven't listened to them much yet, but going from Fall Silent to 1618, it was almost like a step backward. Know what I mean?

I believe there was a second vocalist who sang/screamed in Fall Silent. My wife is telling me it was someone named Bo. I remember seeing them with Good Clean Fun with 2 vocals at The Gilman in Berkley.

Yup, at times Fall Silent toured with a second vocalist doing back up's. They also had a touring second guitarist- Aaron Blanchard, who sings/plays guitar now in Prize Country, who incidentally, I released their newest record.

* Just as a note, they sound nothing like Fall Silent, aside from both being very technically proficient bands of really good musicians.

Danny did not die, it was Roger, the bass player from the "Superstructure" era of FS.

He did break his collarbone and since he had no insurance he got a "pain killer" from the streets and it was apparently not too pure. Technically OD'd. Very sad story.

Last thing Levi did was Goldfronts, a hip-hop group. He did sing on a cover another Reno band did of "The Rulers". Sounded good. Actually came out really good. now Levi is an amazing high school math teacher.

Danny did 1618 and is now in another band with the "second singer" of FS, Beau. Nothing has dropped yet.

Damon is not doing well and has been on drugs for years (last time I heard about him was in 2009 from Levi).

Eric, original bass player from NSTS era is a sound engineer and apparently did some work on the new Star Wars movies. Pretty rad.

Whoops, forgot to tell you about the SLC portion...I have zine where Levi was interviewed about the jumping in SLC. From what I recall, the were warned to not play "Looking In" (an anti-negative edge song that is still taken as an anti-edge song). Levi being Levi didn't care, started to play. They got to that song and right at the break of "Fuck your movement" the lights got hit and Levi got jumped. They did however finish the song. No joke.

I'll try and scan the interview in and post it. there is a great picture of Levi finishing the song with blood on his face.

This band was amazing. With all the turmoil between them and Unconquered, Fall Silent was always bad ass. They stood their ground and were scene changers for Reno.

So much respect.

They did get their entire cash box stolen from straight edge kids "back in the day". Levi knew who it was and went to their house alone. Alone. Knocked on the door and asked for it back. The money was actually his rent for the next two months him and his wife had just used as collateral for a show they played. Inside the house the straight edge kids stayed. Just yelled "fuck you" and other things at him.
Never got it back. Sad and pathetic.

I thought it was rad he went to a house with who knows how many dudes inside and asked for it all back.
