Lets talk Candiria
I was just listening to some Candiria and thought how good they were/are. Then I heard some sobering news that their guitarist died. Was that from the accident they were involved in a few years back? Would someone be able to shed some light on this?
Re: Lets talk Candiria
no, it wasnt in the accident. in fact, it wasnt even a guy who was in the band at the time. it was like the ORIGINAL guitarist, who only played on like 1 or 2 records.
amazing, unique band. had the pleasure of touring with them and have seen them over 30 times.

I never understood the love of Candiria. They were good musicians, but something about it just didn't click with me. I always hated their live shows too. It was 30 minutes of the singer jumping around in a circle, and the bass player trying to make evil eyes.
Re: Lets talk Candiria
You're right, that's all the live show was.

Thank you for the confirmation.

They were pretty popular in Salt Lake. Personally, I found them pretty good. The album about the van wreck and everything after is just 'meh' to me but everything before was pretty hard shit. A little too much singin' about the weed though...

The Bay Area loved Candiria. It was the mixture of jazz, hip hop and hardcore that was so unique and a good change from the typical tough guy stuff going around the scene at the time. I loved their shows and had the pleasure of seeing them at The Gilman a few times. Good dudes.

I enjoyed their sound check more than their set.

the other day i was thinking about this time we saw them play in SF at some warehouse, and Carly said "set it off" 37 times in one set.
