Awesome post. Although I own all the R87 stuff already. None the less a great band. The only band that can cover "Hard Times" by The Cro Mags and make it sound nearly identical vocally. Eric's trademark snarl always brings John Joseph to mind. Saw R87 a quite a few times back in the day circa 96-97 with bands like Second Coming, Hoods, Powerhouse, Old AFI (when they actually were hardcore) and Rely. All classic bay area hardcore bands. Then again at their reunion show in 2004 at The Pound SF with Powerhouse(before the loss of Ernie C. RIP) and Rely. It was like the early days except for the hords of young "New AFI" fans cuz Jade played guitar for those shows. Eric's new band Said Radio is quite good as well. I actually like Said Radio more than The Nerve Agents.
