Picking up where 1988's NIGHT OF THE JAKE left off, DAY OF THE JAKE is the 25 years in the making sequel. The film opens with Grady (Joe Nelson), the officer from the first film, who was savagely beaten by The Jake (Andrew Jacobs) in that film's "brutally effective" (New York Times) opening scene. Grady has been haunted by this beating and made it his life's mission to bring The Jake to justice.
After getting lead on a location for The Jake from a utility bill, Grady heads to Hemet where he is determined "to go inland to go inland." What ensues is a classic meeting of good and evil with The Jake and Grady becoming intertwined in the most dangerous way.
A solid follow up to the original NIGHT OF THE JAKE, DAY OF THE JAKE sets a new standard for the horror movie home movie.
"The most original tale of it's kind since HELLRAISER." - Stephen King
